How do we get so accurate?

Depots are subjected to  a Refund Compliance Audit, at least annually.  We are informed of how we did and you can ask how we did.  This is like a Secret Shopper Program. We strive to give all customers 100% accurate returns.

Who checks the depots?

The Refund Compliance Audit is one check on depots accuracy.  A second one is random audits done by ABCRC, who purchases the beverage containers.  A stringent program is place to maintain accurate counts.

How do we count?

Good question!  We will typically counts be 5’s, grabbing five cans in our hands at one time.  It is quicker and more accurate than counting one at a time.

Where do my bottles go?

Most of the bottles are bought by ABCRC Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation.  From there they go to the market. Aluminum is returned to aluminum cans. Glass into insulation. PET plastic into a great variety of things from clothes, rugs and other plastic products.
